A Review of the Morphological and Properties of Some Toxic Plants

Due to the variety of treatment with different plants in varied parts of Iran and different classes of farmers to urban dwellers, familiarity with the fatal and common types of these plants seems very essential. In this regard, in this book, we introduce common and fatal toxic plants in this boundary which include: Azalea, Anthurium, Dumb Cane, Caladium, Heliotropium, Hydrangea, Digitalis Purpurea, Agrostemma Githago, Papaver Rhoeas, Peony or Paeonia, Oleander, Castor Oil Plant, Abrus Precatorius L, Viscum Album, Dianthus L, and Saponaria Officinalis. Lastly, it is hoped that this collective effort, in addition to provide a pathway in order to identify, protect, and warn against the country’s toxic herbs, introduce these herbs and their toxic compounds, recent applications, and recent researches on these compounds, in this way, it paves the way for researchers in order to utilize some new applications for these pesticides.
